Electech Innovation Cluster Annual Conference 2025: A Day of Insight and Innovation in Lancaster





On March 26th, over 100 professionals from Lancashire and Cumbria’s electech and electronics sectors gathered at The Storey in Lancaster for the first annual Electech Innovation Cluster Conference. Hosted by Dan Knowles, Founder of Northern Reach, the event brought together industry leaders, educators, and innovators to discuss the future of the region’s rapidly growing electech ecosystem.
Chris Mayne, Managing Director of Teleplan Forsberg and Co-Founder of the Cluster, opened the day with a compelling keynote and audience Q&A, setting the tone for a day rich in collaboration and forward-thinking.
Highlights included an Electech Lab Link update from Mark Jordan (Oxley Developments), and thought-provoking sessions from Gayle Salt (Kendal College), Alan Cross (North West Space Cluster), and Jayne Moorby (North West Regional Defence & Security Cluster).
The conference also featured a dynamic series of lightning talks from rising voices and innovators, including Matty Hall (Sairo), Duncan Sime (DASA), Dan Basher (Digital Transit), Nicola Mortimer (Tech Lancaster), Dr. Zoe Detko (Ardea Eco-innovation), Marco Rapaccini (NW Semiconductors), and Raphael Treffny (Teleplan Forsberg).
The day concluded with a lively fireside chat on the future of electech, led by Dan Knowles and David Hammond, CEO of Chiptech, sparking ideas and momentum for the year ahead.
The 2025 conference solidified the region’s place as a hub for innovation, collaboration, and electech excellence and the date for the 2026 event (March 25th) is already in the diary.
